BUSINESS OPERATIONS COORDINATOR 
25 hrs/week * $30-$35/hr * Holliston hybrid schedule 
 

Admin position

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Be a friendly, professional first point of contact for customers by phone, text, and email.

  • Run the daily service schedule and adjust it as priorities change so customers and field crews know what is happening next.

  • Create and send customer invoices and make sure important follow-up does not fall through the cracks.

  • Prepare and submit plumbing permit applications and keep related paperwork organized.

  • Maintain accurate customer, property, and job information in our business systems.

  • Help improve the office systems, technology, and workflows that support a growing field team.

  • Collaborate on marketing, social media, customer communication, and community outreach.

  • Notice when something could work better and help us improve it rather than simply working around it.

This position does not include bookkeeping or accounting responsibilities.

Experience in office administration, customer service, scheduling, operations, or another service business is helpful. Plumbing or construction experience is not required.

Are you a great plumber who is tired of everything that comes with running a plumbing business? The phones. The scheduling. The estimates. The permits. The invoicing. The collections. The marketing. The paperwork. And then there is insurance - the cost, renewals, certificates, audits and never-ending administrative work that comes with keeping a business running. What if you could leave all of that behind and get back to being a plumber?

You do the plumbing. We handle the rest.
We are looking for an experienced Massachusetts licensed plumber who takes pride in the trade, knows how to diagnose a problem, communicates well with customers and wants to do excellent work without having to carry an entire business on their shoulders. Our quarterly bonus system is tied directly to your performance, NOT sales. 

 

What That Means at Lamont

Our office handles the phones, scheduling, permits, customer communication, invoicing, collections, follow-up, marketing and administrative work. The company handles the trucks, tools, equipment, insurance and the overhead of running the business. Your job is to take care of the customer and do excellent plumbing. There are no sales quotas, no scare tactics and no expectation that you turn every service call into a larger ticket. We want an experienced plumber - not a salesperson. Diagnose the problem. Explain the options honestly. Do the work correctly. Treat the customer well. That's the Lamont way.

The Work

Our work is primarily residential and light commercial plumbing and heating throughout Holliston and the surrounding MetroWest communities, including:

• Service and repair

• Plumbing diagnostics and troubleshooting

• Water heaters and tankless systems

• Boilers and hydronic heating

• Pumps and water systems

• Gas piping

• Water filtration

• Renovation and replacement work

 

We also have apprentices coming up through the trade, so the right person should be comfortable sharing their experience and helping younger plumbers develop their skills.

 

What About HVAC?

HVAC experience would be a significant plus - but it is not a requirement. Expanding our HVAC capabilities is part of Lamont's future, and we would be very interested in someone who brings experience in both trades. But first and foremost, we are looking for the right experienced plumber. We would rather hire an exceptional plumber who fits our company than overlook that person because HVAC isn't part of their background.

What We're Looking For

• Current Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Plumber license

• Substantial hands-on plumbing experience

• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently

• Pride in craftsmanship

• Professional, comfortable customer communication

• Dependability, organization and accountability

• Willingness to work as part of a team and help develop apprentices

• A belief in fixing what needs fixing - without unnecessary upselling.

 

HVAC experience, licensing or technical training is strongly desired and especially valuable, but not required.

 

Compensation & Benefits

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with periodic emergency/on-call responsibility.
